Entry Requirements: Over 18s only
Ben Vince is a composer and performer from Nottingham, known for his live improvised saxophone explorations and inventive techniques in creating new rhythms, textures and moods. Through improvisation, sonic manipulation, reprocessing and looping, his spontaneous yet intuitive approach and collaborative nature surpasses the seeming limitations of his primary instrument. He is a prominent player among a new breed of experimental artists with focus on his immersive solo show, as well as having performed with improv ritual EP/64, Charles Hayward, Coby Sey, Valentina Magaletti and part of experimental post-punk band, Housewives. Vince has also notable studio collaborations with electronic producer Joy Orbison, Mica Levi, and many others spread across the experimental sphere including Sugai Ken, Cucina Povera, Alpha Maid and Gigi Masin.
Best known for his work with Golden Teacher, The Modern Institute, L & Dick 50, Glasgow-based drummer Laurie Pitt will play a special solo drum/electronics set.
Lauren Sarah Hayes is a Scottish improviser, sound artist, and scholar who is recognised for her embodied approach to computer music. Her music is a mix of experimental pop/live electronics/techno/noise/free improvisation and has been described as ‘voracious’ and ‘exhilarating’. As a live sound sculptor, she manipulates, remixes, and bends voice, drum machines, analogue synths and self-built software. She has toured extensively across Europe and North America, including as part of her tenure with the New BBC Radiophonic Workshop. Her work has been released on Superpang, Hard Return, Pan Y Rosas Discos, LOL Editions, Werra Foxma, Sunwarped, and Harmonic Ooze Records.
