FAITH ELIOTT
Faith Eliott is a Minneapolis-born, Scotland-based singer-songwriter known for their poetic lyricism and evocative storytelling. Initially drawn to writing through poetry, Faith honed their craft in the Edinburgh DIY music scene, performing in folk pubs and singing backing vocals before emerging as a distinctive songwriter. Their debut solo EP Insects (2016) was followed by the critically acclaimed album Impossible Bodies (2019), released via their own label OK Pal Records, co-founded with musician Hailey Beavis. Deeply influenced by mythology, history, and the natural world, Faiths music blends intricate narratives with atmospheric arrangements, creating a unique space where folk traditions meet contemporary sonic explorations.
Their new album , crafted in close collaboration with producer and multi-instrumentalist Robyn Dawson, showcases an expansive and ambitious evolution of their sound. Featuring contributions from a diverse array of musicians, the record fuses orchestral elements, electronic textures, and found sounds to build immersive sonic landscapes. As a songwriter, Faith approaches music as both a means of storytelling and a vehicle for curiosity, weaving together influences from archaeology, internet culture, and surreal imagery. With Dryas, Faith continues to push boundaries, offering listeners an intricate and deeply personal journey through resilience, adaptation, and the strange beauty of the world around us.
Support on the night comes from Glaswegian audio-visual trio Instruction Manual and Lost Map label-mates Sulka.
