Stereocilia + Semay Wu + James Mackay

Stereocilia is Bristol, UK based guitarist and composer, John Scott. John uses his guitar, analog synths and live looping techniques to create dense, rich layers of sound. Over the past 10 years John has performed all over the UK and Europe. in the past he has shared a stage with acts including Ben Frost, William Baskinski, Gnod, Nadja, Daniel Lanois, Noveller, White Hills, Acid Mothers Temple, Josef Van Wissem, Mick Turner (The Dirty Three) and performed in three of Rhys Chatham’s guitar Orchestras. He has also presented work for live radio broadcasts, and regularly composes for Short Film, including the Channel 4 award winning documentary, 'The Boy With The 8-Hour Heart.' Stereocilia has release several albums and EP’s on UK independent labels, including Drone Rock Records, Low Point, Weird Beard, Champion Version and his own imprint, Echoic Memory. His 6th album “Phases” will be released on Echoic Memory in February 2025.

SEMAY WU
Semay Wu works as a composer, cellist/improviser, and media/sound artist. Greatly influenced by improvisational frameworks, Semay builds on interdisciplinary relationships through collaboration and spontaneity. Semay is also driven by a visual perspective, to encourage ideas for texture and ‘play’. Alongside performing, recent composed works have developed as video pieces, performance/interactive-installations, graphic scores, as well as working with communities for online digital presentation.
JAMES MACKAY
Growing up through the local jazz scene, James Mackay is a guitarist and composer currently based in Glasgow. Performing as a solo artist and also with his projects Unharm and BURNTDOWNSHED, James’ sonic palette ranges from spiritual droning soundscapes to more aggressive and tactile experiences. Expect honest and truthful jazz informed guitar playing, manipulated with electronics and moulded into a colourful and hazy visage.
