The New Leaves + Martha Ffion
Entry Requirements: OVER 18s ONLY
The New Leaves, the contemporary folk trio from County Down, Northern Ireland, return to Glasgow following their sold-out Celtic Connections performance in January. Renowned for their warm harmonies, evocative songwriting and beautifully crafted acoustic arrangements, the band have quickly established themselves as one of the most exciting emerging voices on the Irish and Scottish folk scene.
The band will present a stripped-back acoustic set, showcasing material from their eagerly anticipated second album on Glasgow label Corn Crake Records. Audiences can also expect songs from their acclaimed debut album, A Sketch of Home, which reached No. 10 in the Scottish Albums Chart and earned praise for its intimate storytelling and rich sense of place.
Drawing inspiration from the landscapes and traditions of their native County Down while bringing a fresh contemporary perspective to folk music, The New Leaves continue to win audiences wherever they perform. Support on the night comes from Martha Fiona, whose heartfelt songs and captivating live performances have made her a rising talent to watch.
