The New Leaves + Fidra
Entry Requirements: Over 18s only
Teaming up for a string of summer dates across Scotland, The New Leaves and Fidra showcase their blend of contemporary and traditional folk music from their respective homes in Ireland and Scotland.
The New Leaves are a folk group from County Down, Northern Ireland, made up of four childhood friends, exploring the natural beauty, history and mythology of homelife beneath the Mourne Mountains and the beautiful townlands that surround Carlingford Lough. Like so many contemporary music projects, The New Leaves emerged from the post pandemic wilderness, and blend lush, three-part harmonies, nature inspired lyrics and modern folk aesthetics.
Bringing together musicians from across Scotland any beyond, Fidra are known for their harmonious blend of distinctly Scottish folk music, combining traditional sounds with an indie-infused edge. Their debut album, The Running Wave was described in 2024 as “one of the finest Scottish folk albums of the year“. Their outstanding storytelling offers a unique and personal perspective – sonically and lyrically – on life in Scotland. Fusing folk and traditional music with a modern intensity, Fidra are recognised as one of the most exciting emerging acts on the Scottish folk scene.
