Glad Days: The Annette Street Drummers + R.Aggs
Entry Requirements: All ages (under 18s must be accompanied by adults)
Join us for a celebration of the Glad Foundation's programmes! Expect fun for all ages, including a free matinee performance from Ray Aggs, and a showcase of our programme for 5 - 11 year olds, The Annette Street Drummers! There will also be crafts for kids and the opportunity to give your input into what the Glad Foundation gets up to. This event is free to the public, with any donations (optional) going to support the work and programmes of the Glad Foundation, making music more accessible to all.
2:30 - 4:30pm
Ray Aggs is primarily known for their fun vibe, danceable beats, and distinctive guitar work, influenced by both West African highlife and postpunk. They also play in Sacred Paws, have written many zines, and teach workshops about music and inclusivity.
The Annette Street Drummers is the Glad Foundation’s long-running samba-bateria style street band, made up of 5 - 11 year olds from Annette Street Primary. This programme gives an amazing music-making opportunity to young people living in some of the most challenging circumstances in our city. Come hear what they’ve been up to, and be moved by their infectious enthusiasm!
The Glad Foundation is a sister organization of the Glad Cafe and Glad Rags. We work to support accessibility in music, running programmes for everyone in the community, with a special emphasis on including those who wouldn’t be included otherwise!
