Celtic Connections: Little Acres + Grayling
Entry Requirements: Over 18s only
Little Acres is vocalists Cariss Crosbie Emilie Boyd and Rachel Lightbody. As a harmony trio they are a force to be reckoned with, having provided backing for many major names in the Scottish music scene and wider afield over the past decade. Little Acres is launching their much anticipated debut EP titled ‘Wait’ - a 5 track EP which is an existential journey through the many facets of adulthood and womanhood.
Little Acres’ love of vocal harmony, subtlety, beauty in music, and above all, their collaborative working style, has lead to their sonically rich, eclectic and inventive music. Their sound is a blend of the many genres they are influenced by, blurring the boundaries between indie, alt-pop, neo-folk, neo-soul, contemporary jazz, and influences from past decades also. However, the priority is, of course, harmony singing; complex and adventurous harmony is at the core of their sonic identity. They take pride in being an entirely collaborative group of female co-leaders – there is no one main writer or singer.
Individually as lead vocalists and together as a unit, Little Acres work in major venues all over Scotland, and have collaborated with musicians such as Corinne Bailey Rae, Natasha Bedingfield, Kathryn Joseph, Tom McGuire and the Brassholes, Rachel Sermanni, Admiral Fallow, Hamish Stuart of the Average White Band, Rebecca Vasmant, Adam Holmes, Fat-Suit, Kris Drever and Siobhan Miller, amongst many others.
