“Act Shy may be a fairly new band but is comprised of some seriously accomplished composer-musicians.” Scottish Jazz Space

“An excellent lineup playing wonderful material” Patrick Hadfield, London Jazz News

Act Shy is a group gathered by keyboardist and composer Paul Harrison. Melodic but adventurous, hard grooving, beguiling and exploratory - all at once. Powerful soloing, rhythmic wizardry, atmosphere building and collective empathy. The band brings together leading talents from Scotland’s scene: saxophonists Adam Jackson and Michael Butcher, bassist Brodie Jarvie and drummer Doug Hough.

Fresh contemporary jazz from musicians who have an unassuming exterior but who have important things to say. As Stephen Hawking said... "Quiet people have the loudest minds”
