Jumpin Hot Club Revue

Featuring Martin Stephenson (Dainties) with Rupert Hughes (Often Herd) , Rob Heron (Tea Pad Orc) , Errant Moose & Shipcote (Shipcote & Friends)

A supporter of artists & champion of good music for nearly four decades, the legendary “Jumpin Hot Club” based around Newcastle Upon Tyne is taking a live musical revue on the road with a troupe of favourite regular performers. It is quite a celebration .They will each play a set & mix & match together

Artists hand-picked to spread the Jumpin Hot Club truth are …

Martin Stephenson, has been playing the club since it first opened its doors. The local singer-songwriter based in the Highlands was recently featured on Billy Connolly’s BBC documentary, as Billy is a huge fan. Martin’s songs are a glorious mix of the music we love: folk, country, jazz & heartfelt pop His live performances are an exuberant tour-de-force combining heart-in-your-mouth intimacy with playful humour and warm self-deprecation.

He will be accompanied by Rupert Hughes , the highly acclaimed guitarist with bluegrass band “The Often Herd” who’s wide pool of influences range from old-time mountain music to country rock & psychedelia.

Rob Heron ( & His Tea Pad Orchestra ) has been playing the Jumpin Hot club for over a decade or so. His very own dazzling songs and music are inspired from bygone years, well before he was even born. Western Swing, Blues, Rock & Roll, Cajun, Soul, all done excitingly Heron in his unique easy retro style. He will tour solo

Errant Moose are Phillipa Ogden & Phoebe Stephenson. A relatively new & exciting acoustic duo (fiddle/guitar) They are old time & bluegrass enthusiasts from the two Shields (North & South) & it’s perhaps the new bluegrass sound of Newcastle.

And finally Shipcote is the songwriter in Shipcote & Friends. He writes quirky heartfelt songs, perhaps one of the region's oft- most overlooked artists . “Shippy” will also join with the fun on String Bass when required. He is the co-founder of The Jumpin Hot Club & is the author of the widely acclaimed “Jumpin Hot Club- Where Good Music Belongs” book.
