Jazz at the Glad: TAO

TAO, led by the drummer and composer, Roan Anderson. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant jazz scene in Glasgow and beyond, Roan creates compositions that weave together soulful melodies and infectious rhythms; creating songs that can be joyful, moody, heavy hitting and more. The lineup features some of Glasgow’s best upcoming players; Ewan Johnston on keys, Simon Herberholz on saxophone, and Chris Quinn on bass. Tao’s debut album was released in September 2023 and has special guests on the album including saxophonist, Matt Carmichael and guitarist, James Mackay. TAO’s music reflects personal experiences of self-discovery, loss, and cherished memories, hoping to take audiences on an journey of deep emotion and musical exploration. TAO has been noticed as one to watch by the Scottish Alternative Music Awards and also in BBC’s ‘25 Scottish Acts to Watch in 2024′
