An afternoon with Quartet Malamatina & Neuro Trash
Entry Requirements: All ages // Under 16s accompanied by an adult
Spend a spring afternoon in The Glad Café with international guitar ensemble Quartet Malamatina and Glasgow's own Neuro Trash.
Expect at least five guitars, banjos, mandolin, piano, and singing saw to take you through classical masterpieces, contemporary gems and a bunch of wonky folk songs...
Quartet Malamatina
Tim, Ross, Finlay and Lenny met at The Royal Conservatoire of Glasgow and have sinced performed classical works and new commissions all over the world.
They build upon the culturally diverse and long-standing traditions of guitar ensemble music to create something captivating and new.
This performance is a stop on their 2024 UK concert hall tour. Don't miss the only chance to see them in a cafe!

Neuro Trash
Fergus, Finn, Ollie and Scott make music that floats somewhere between folk, classical and ambient - with singing saws, banjos, guitars and more.
Neuro Trash has released three albums - Oh, But I Did (2017), At The Day’s End (2021) and At Times, I Was Totally at Ease (2022). They’ve written a musical - Mr Beige, or ‘Oh, What an Average Life’, premiered at cult new poetry night SPAM in 2017 - live soundtracked hours of nudity and sketching with All The Young Nudes life drawing club, played gigs and festivals around the country, and even had a sandwich named after us (the delicious ‘Mr Beige’ at the iconic Tchai Ovna in Glasgow).
