Dubbed “the flag bearers for Americana in the UK,” The Wynntown Marshals might hail from Edinburgh, but they’re channelling Nashville on a deeply spiritual level. Citing the likes of Wilco, Neil Young, Ryan Adams, and Drive-By Truckers as inspiration, the Marshals have been together since 2007 and were proclaimed “Europe’s best Americana band” in 2010.

Their latest release, 2022’s Big Ideas, sees them hold firmly to that title. This is a band at the peak of their powers, equally at home playing jangly, radio-ready power pop as they are rugged, rootsy rock.
