Jazz at the Glad Weekender: Nathan Somevi
Entry Requirements: Over 18s only
Guitarist and songwriter Nathan Somevi creates uplifting music with an appeal that reaches the general music audience as well as jazz aficionados. Born in Ghana, Nathan moved to Scotland with his family as a child and began playing guitar in his teens. Inspired by Blue Note guitarist Charlie Hunter’s idiosyncratic bass-and-guitar-combined approach, he began composing songs and was soon making an impression. His digital album, Can’t Be Done, released in 2020, earned him a Scottish Alternative Music Awards nomination as Best Newcomer. Influential broadcaster Vic Galloway included him in his 25 Scottish Artists to Watch in 2021 list.
NOTE: The 'all day' ticket option grants entry into the matinee (4pm) show AND evening (8pm) show - the matinee shows are open to all ages, but evening shows are 18+ only due to the Glad's alcohol licence.
