"one of the best gigs in the UK..." - Scott Capurro
"Absolutely brilliant comedy night. Hip little venue with a good bar and café. The comedians were fab and so many of them. Headline act was fantastic. Can't wait to go again." - Suzy M
"Everything we anticipated- just great - excellent MC and wonderful contributions from all who contributed. What a night of frivolity. Anarchic and acceptably coarse." - Colin from Barrhead
Paul McDaniel is a Northern Irish comedian so funny that during one of his sets a promoter laughed so much she feared she would go into labour. A regular performer at Glasgow and Edinburgh’s top comedy nights, he has honed a distinct act that is always surreal and often just plain bonkers.
Tipped by Wow 24/7 as "one of the most underrated acts on the Scottish circuit", Paul has shared the bill with comedy greats such as Frankie Boyle, Fred Macaulay and Michael Redmond, and is a member of the award-winning cult sketch group CHUNKS and its Saturday night offshoot STITCHES.
He has numerous Edinburgh Fringe shows under his belt, has brought several shows to the Glasgow International Comedy Festival and also finds time to present a monthly online radio show HAVE A WORD with fellow comedian Sandy Bouttell. This prolific performer writes and gigs relentlessly, always working on new material and trying to push the funny forward.
"An inexplicable delight" - Chortle
"Paul McDaniel is f***ing brilliant" -Janey Godley
Glaswegian comedian and broadcaster Julia Sutherland continues to make waves on national radio and across the Scottish comedy circuit.
Having interviewed dozens of top comedians for her BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio Scotland series, she took on one of her biggest challenges in 2018, her debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. ‘Exposed’ was a hilarious introspective look at what Julia’s honest answers would be, if she was the subject of the interview. Known for her critical observations and deeply personal confessional comedy, Julia’s 2015 show at the Glasgow International Festival ‘Fat Chance’ was picked up by BBC Radio 4, as she revealed her experiences of losing six stone through stand-up and sketches.
“Nobody works through their issues so hilariously” – The List
“Ultimately, she has it in her to join the front rank of Scottish headliners" - The Scotsman
Amanda Dwyer has a deadpan delivery alongside a wicked sense of humour, taking dark subjects like her constant battle with depression and anxiety and pulling them inside out to leave audiences in stitches. She now performs regularly in weekend comedy clubs such as Monkey Barrel in Edinburgh and Rotunda in Glasgow. Set to perform tour support for Tom Stade later this year. Amanda co-hosts the regular women-in-comedy podcast 'Material, Girl' alongside fellow comic Susan Riddell. She performed her debut half-hour show DWY WIT at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival in April.
"A star performer who steals laughs when you"re not expecting and never fails to deliver when you do.” - Vibe Room Comedy Club
Complications from a burst appendix could have killed Sam Tennent, thankfully he recovered and with a new lease of life he decided to fight his fear and sign up for a comedy course. Since then he's had multiple Glasgow Comedy Festival sell outs to his name and once supported Coolio.
Stu Campbell is a South African comedian who is making the rounds on the Scottish comedy circuit. Stu is an observational comedian who talks about his previous life growing up in South Africa and his new life in Scotland. A dark undertone with snappy lines. Stu has performed at Monkey Barrel Comedy Club, Red Raw, Tennents Laughter Lounge, Peckhams Comedy Club and Sauchiehall Comedy Club.
