Double A-Side Records are back at The Glad Cafe!

So after far too long they've decided to put on some gigs, and they’re looking to be absolute doozies!

The Just Joans: This Glasgow sextet needs no introduction to Double A-Side regulars, having played the Tugboat Captain show we hosted in 2021. Forming in 2005 by singer David Pope, they’ve gone on to release a number of albums through Fika Recordings and little bird told us they have more new music on the way. Deadpan humor mixed with happy/sad songs with some fantastic musicianship – this is not to be missed!

Home Economics: What can we say about this lot? Well, some of you might remember them as Double A-Side co-head honcho Angus’ band.They’ve been working on a lot of new material over the past few years and – without being too biased – expanding on their guitar-pop sound. Take from that what you will… It’ll still be loud, don’t worry.

Mima Merrow: We caught Mima’s album launch in February and it was really special. Her debut album Almost Home speaks volumes to us, and covers some subjects really close to our hearts. In many songs, Mima wonders about what home actually is and explores the state when the place you’re from stops to feel like home. In short: wonderful songs with a wonderful voice. We can’t wait to have her play another show with us.

As always, we will be hosting a raffle with all the proceeds going to the DEC Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal.
