Celtic Connections: The Homebird Sessions with Carol Laula & Yvonne Lyon
Entry Requirements: Over 18s only
Unfortunately due to family reasons, Elaine Lennon will no longer be able to perform at this show.
Scottish singer song writer, Yvonne Lyon, will stand in and take Elaine's place and join Carol Laula on stage.
Expect an intimate, relaxed and welcoming evening as the artists perform acoustic versions of their songs. Hear the stories that inspired them and tales from their respective musical journeys.
Carol Laura's style bobs around somewhere between the sweet, clear delicacy of Joni Mitchell and the tougher edges of Joan Armatrading. She first captivated audiences in 1990, when her single, ‘Standing Proud’, was chosen to represent Glasgow in its year of culture. With many successful world-wide tours and collaborations with artists like Stuart Anderson, Carol has a massive global fanbase. She's also known for her work with the BBC Radio and Scottish Television.
With 8 albums under her belt, she still stirs critics to describe her as "an undeniably passionate and whole-hearted singer". Although her albums capture her incredible tone and clarity, it's when you see her perform live that you truly appreciate the depth and range of her talent.
Elaine Lennon created the online version at the start of lockdown in 2022.
Following the success, the show now tours across the country.
