The Southside's longest-running, BIG, Award-Winning Saturday Night of Comedy returns for a not-especially festive Christmas special!

The legendary Vladimir McTavish headlines at the wonderful Glad Cafe for the night Comedy's been waiting for! Vlad will be joined by Ross Leslie, Jeannie Jones, Daniel Petrie, Amanda Dwyer and your standard issue host Fergus Mitchell! Check out some of our five-star audience reviews for shows past...

"Absolutely brilliant comedy night. Hip little venue with a good bar and café. The comedians were fab and so many of them. Headline act was fantastic. Can't wait to go again." - Suzy M

"Everything we anticipated- just great - excellent MC and wonderful contributions from all who contributed. What a night of frivolity. Anarchic and acceptably coarse." - Colin from Barrhead

"Great comedy, great venue, great bar people, great audience, great menu, great toilets, great snacks, great walkway, great signs, great beards, great teeth :)" - Del13

"Woke lefty BS" - Simon G

Who's On?

A stand-up comedian and satirist with twenty years’ worth of Edinburgh Fringe performances to his name, Vladimir McTavish is a much-loved staple of the Scottish comedy scene, while his international appearances include the Adelaide Fringe, a sell-out run at the Dunedin Fringe in New Zealand, a nomination for the comedy award at Fringe World in Perth, the Singapore Comedy Festival, the New York Comedy Festival and the Aspen Comedy Festival in Colorado USA.

Vladimir’s Aye Right? How No?: A Comedy Countdown to the Referendum won Best Fringe Show at the 2015 Scottish Comedy Awards. It followed the critical and box-office success the previous year of Look At The State Of Scotland. His TV appearances include Frankie Boyle’s Tramadol Nights on Channel 4, The Rory Bremner Review on BBC2 and BBC’s BAFTA-nominated Live Floor Show. Vlad's latest smash show was 'The Beginning Of The End' at the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe. He is the second-best known, but most admired Vladimir on the scene.
