A. Wesley Chung
A. Wesley Chung is an American songwriter/musician based in Glasgow, Scotland. He is previously known for his indie/folk bands The Great Albatross and Boris Smile, while his newest material ventures heavily into indie rock with sprinklings of emo and choral inspired moments. His sophomore album entitled, "Portents," was produced by longtime collaborator and friend Kieran Heather and was created over four years, in and around the pandemic and with an array of musicians and pals. The album is an exploration of life’s seasons, loss and the cycles of death and renewal.
Chung has performed in the US and UK, including both days of the 2013 Count Your Lucky Stars/Topshelf Records SXSW showcase in Austin, TX, Union Chapel in London and the main stage of End of The Road Festival (2018) with Vampire Weekend, Gruff Rhyes, Shame and more. In his many musical iterations, he has performed alongside the likes of Courtney Marie Andrews, Saintseneca, Into It. Over It.,Pinegrove, Owen, Joan of Arc, Kevin Morby, The World is a Beautiful Place and I am No Longer Afraid to Die, Empire! Empire! (I was a lonely estate), Rachel Sermanni and Adam Torres.
Chung emigrated from California to the UK as an adult, making Glasgow his new home. The Scottish city would be the facilitator to Chung’s band of revolving members and collaborators in The Great Albatross, and is now home to his ever evolving solo material.
Scott C. Park
Scott C. Park makes country-tinged alt-pop about what it feels like to change. From his home in the Isle of Lewis he writes about identity, religion, and the weirdness of human behaviour through sharp and breezy songs that want to get stuck in your head. Combining the wit and smirk of Pavement, the lyrical detail of Phoebe Bridgers, and the bare-all confessionals of Bright Eyes and Frightened Rabbit, Scott C. Park is just trying to figure out how to be OK — whilst having the most fun he can along the way. He has two EPs out now.
Grayling
Grayling pours emotive imagery into her lyrics which dance in partnership with her dulcet tones and wistful guitar melodies. She has worked closely with producer Luke Palmer on the EP and has Conor Smith (pedal and steel guitar), Niall Forde (drums) & & Liam Chapman (drums & percussion) featured. Taking inspiration from the likes of Angel Olsen, Joni Mitchell and Julia Jacklin.
Speaking about the first single ‘River Song’ Emma/Grayling said: This song was written in the midst of lockdown and in the early stages of a separation, when you’re still holding onto the remnants of a relationship and the “what might have beens”. Grayling has recently shared stages with The Joy Hotel, Stu Larsen and played Country to Country in Glasgow’s OVO Hydro as well as King Tut’s New Noise showcase. She recently travelled to Haarlem, Amsterdam to play with a 12 piece band at a sold out Paatronaat Theatre in a celebration for Paul McCartney’s 80th Birthday where she also performed a live session for Radio Veronica. Just fresh off a tour around the UK stopping in Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and Edinburgh debuting the live version of BBC Scotland’s ‘Track of the week’ - River Song, Grayling is currently back in the studio recording the next 2 singles which will be released later this year.
