Ceitidh Mac blends the warming tones of the cello and soaring vocals to create a transformative sound that puts a progressive twist on the alt.folk genre. With her EP ‘I Reach for the Pen’ set for release on 27th August, Ceitidh Mac will be launching the EP with a UK Tour in November 2021 with her band.

While the folk influence is prominent in her songs, it’s combined with a contemporary electronic edge and smokey style, embellished by unusual instrumentation; a folk/jazz crossover, aligning her with artists such as Jesca Hoop, Joni Mitchell and This is The Kit.

2021 has seen Ceitidh played by Mark Radcliffe on The Folk Show on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 6 Music, local and national support from BBC Introducing, as well as being A-Listed by Amazing Radio.

‘Her live shows have that ineffable thing – call it a vibe, call it an atmosphere – that was very evident to anyone who saw her support Lankum at Sage Gateshead”- The Crack ‘Expertly written and arranged, a superb song filled with a resolute and reverberant spirit’ Fresh on the Net.

A 2019 Celtic Connections Danny Kyle Stage Winner, and one of the “most note-worthy performances” at the 2019 Kintyre Songwriters' Festival, Djana Gabrielle is a French-Cameroonian singer-songwriter who has been honing her craft on the Scottish music scene for a few years now. She released her debut EP, recorded in Glasgow, in late 2015 and toured around the UK and Europe to promote it. In 2018, she took on the challenge to write, record and release a brand new song each month, which earned her a "New & Notable" feature on the American music platform Noisetrade. She is now working on her next release, hoping to introduce her soulful, soothing and melodious sound to new audiences in Scotland and beyond.
