Cryptic presents Alex Smoke (UK) // LinhHafornow (VT) // Aeger Smoothie (Rus)
Entry Requirements: Over 18s only
Important Information from Cryptic:
In light of the current Coronavirus situation, Cryptic have taken the necessary decision to change the format of our event at the Glad Cafe.
Whilst we appreciate that nothing quite compares to experiencing a performance in person, the health and wellbeing of our audiences, artists and staff is of greatest priority and with this in mind, we are going to continue with the show, however, it will be closed to the public and instead live-streamed across our social media. This means you can, and we hope you will, still be able to enjoy the event from the comfort and safety of your own home via:
Facebook & Twitter: @crypticglasgow [both beginning at 20.00], and subsequently on demand via the Cryptic website and IGTV: @crypticglasgow
We are happily offering refunds, but if you are in a position to be able to waive this and treat your current ticket purchase as a donation, it would be very gratefully received and would be of direct benefit to the artists involved.
We will endeavour to update you on all future planned events as soon as possible, but in the meantime, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us directly: pr@cryptic.org.uk
Following Cryptic’s music residency at Cove Park, we bring you an eclectic triple bill of live electronic music from Scotland, Vietnam and Russia, with the aim to benefit both body and mind. Written as part of a Fellowship with the NHS, exploring the relationship between health and sound, Alex Smoke's Eirini is a soothing suite of electronics and live processing. Blending soaring vocal loops, textured found sound, and warm synthesis, LinhHafornow builds dense, engaging soundscapes featuring her native K’ni (mouth violin) which lead listeners through an intricate patchwork of emotions. Inspired by the structure of the universe and the evolution of the human species, Aeger Smoothie’s part-improvised audiovisual project allows him to perform tracks that respond, and encourage us, to reflect on our personal journeys and empathise with each other through this shared creative experience. Aeger Smoothie is part of the British Council UK-Russia Year of Music/2019.
