Deacon Blue
Entry Requirements: Over 18s only / standing only
The Glad Cafe is excited to announce an incredibly intimate concert with our amazing friends and one of the most iconic bands to have come from Scotland.
The legendary Deacon Blue will play a very special acoustic show in front of 120 people on Sunday 15th September 2019.
The band have agreed to play to help our "Raise the Roof" campaign. We and our neighbours have been thrown a lifeline with the promise of grants to cover half the costs of a complete refurbishment to our wrecked and leaky roofs, stonework and guttering of the whole building. The Glad Cafe's share is a whopping £40,000 and without this work it’s future is in jeopardy.
We're forever indebted to Deacon Blue for this gracious act of kindness and their solidarity with the grassroots music scene in Scotland.
Formed in Glasgow in 1985, Deacon Blue went on to become one of the city’s most famous and successful bands.
From their million selling debut album ‘Raintown’, and follow-up, the chart-topping ‘When The World Knows Your Name’, through to 2016’s ‘Believers’, their highest charting album in 22 years, Deacon Blue are consistently one of the most respected and best loved bands of their generation.
In 2018 they celebrated their 30th anniversary with their most successful tour in 25 years that culminated in their biggest ever headline show at the Hydro in Glasgow. The Deacon Blue renaissance is well underway.
THIS IS A STANDING ONLY SHOW. NO SEATS AVAILABLE. OVER 18s ONLY.
