You are invited to the launch of Underachievers Club, party planners based in Glasgow, celebrating the great and wonderful music, comedy and art being made across the country. Brought to you by two pals - Siobhain Ma (Happy Spendy, Sister Collective) and Craig Angus (Savage Mansion) - we’re already making weird and wonderful plans for 2019 and beyond.

For our first day out we’ve teamed up with our friends at Lost Map, The Glad Cafe and Celtic Connections to bring you a formidable lineup of live music, featuring some of our favourite acts from around the UK. We’ll see you in January.

Here's the line up!

The Spook School A set of anthemic, queer pop blasts to rouse you from the deepest of slumbers, we’re delighted to have The Spook School headline our maiden party. Be prepared to have their tunes swimming around your head for days afterwards.

Savage Mansion Battlefield-based indie rock vehicle that’s a little bit punk, a little bit country. Ripping off the greats. Holder of Cineworld Unlimited Card. Debut album out in February courtesy of my good, good, close personal friends at Lost Map. Undeserving of this late slot, but I’m co-hosting this gig. Thanks for coming.

Mush The first time I saw this band I was sick with envy. Life is too short for that. Now I’m just happy they’re in my life. The snarl of The Fall, the meandering guitar soundscapes of Sonic Youth, a glorious racket. You know Marc Riley from the radio? Marc Riley really likes them.

Rozi Plain With a new album due to be released in the Spring by Memphis Industries, we are delighted to have the uniquely talented Fence and Lost Map alumnus Rozi Plain gracing us with her presence on the 19th. Innovative, sophisticated writing with undeniable pop hooks and elements of psych and folk.

Happy Spendy Your new favourite band, from Derry via Glasgow, it’s Happy Spendy! Lo-fi pop full of heart, packed with melody, with a set of songs you can’t fail to fall in love with. Led by Eimear Coyle, who will no doubt have a few stories to tell.

Callum Easter Edinburgh-based singer of otherworldly rhythm and blues, Callum Easter’s just released his first single on Lost Map, ‘Here or Nowhere’/’Back Beat’. At turns sombre, sleazy, and soulful, the songwriting is fantastic, an artistic vision fully realised. For the avoidance of doubt, we’re big fans.

Hairband One of the city’s best new bands, featuring members of Spinning Coin, Breakfast Muff and Lush Purr. Off-kilter indie compositions, their music is a colourful continuation of the Postcard Records tradition. It’s also the sound of five close friends having fun and it’s goddamn infectious.
