The Glad Cafe has two associated companies – Glad Rags Thrift Shop which is a not for profit cooperative business, and the Glad Foundation which is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
Glad Rags Thrift opened right next to the cafe in January 2014, to sell second hand clothes, shoes and accessories. These are kindly donated by people wanting to support the Glad Cafe programme and the Glad Foundation, which provides free and affordable music lessons to local people. Glad Rags is always grateful for donations, so please drop off your unwanted clothes etc either in the shop, or in the cafe when the shop is closed.

The Glad Foundation is based nearby at 3 Abbot Street. Over the past three years it has run a range of small initiatives funded by the support of the Glad Community Choir, donations of money, and grants. Please check out the Glad Foundation’s website for more information of what is currently running. The Glad Foundation’s facebook page also flags up open workshops and events.
This year the Glad Foundation is supported by Creative Scotland (2015-16), the Irvine Sneddon Trust as well as by other gifts and fund-raising activities.

The Glad Community Choir
Our wonderful choir has been running for the past three years, and meets to rehearse on a Monday night at the Glad Cafe. Please check out the website http://www.gladcommunitychoir.com/ to see the amazing range of material they have covered during this time, and for forthcoming events.
The Glad Rag is our twice yearly art and literature zine featuring the work of southside artists and writers, as well as some work from further afield. Copies can be picked up in the Glad Cafe and spots around the city. For more information and submissions: http://thegladragmag.tumblr.com/
